The Waikiki Brothers OST is a landmark in Korean film music, originally released in 2001 and now reborn as an LP (vinyl) for the first time in 24 years. The sound was remastered from the original master to preserve the era’s atmosphere, blending the realities and dreams of middle-aged musicians who performed as a local club band. Unlike typical film scores, this album features the film’s cast—Hwang Jung-min, Ryu Seung-beom, Park Hae-il, Park Won-sang, Oh Ji-hye, and Moon Hye-won—providing authentic vocal performances that bring the characters to life. This release is not a simple reprint but a faithful recreation of the era’s emotions through analog sound. The philosophy of “small beginnings of hope amid life’s hardships” is preserved, with the release produced in black, 2LP, and 180g heavyweight formats to maintain sound quality and analog sensibility. The package includes a gatefold jacket and the film OST fold-out poster. Waikiki Brothers is more than a film; it’s a bittersweet memory of a generation’s youth and music, and this LP aims to convey that moment’s warmth to today’s listeners.
